Stop Starlink Deal

CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on March 13THE recent reports of Jio and Airtel's tie-up with Elon Musk's Starlink to offer high-speed satellite-based internet services in the country raise serious questions regarding spectrum allocation and national security concerns. The Supreme Court had held in the 2G case that spectrum is a scarce resource and can be allocated to private players only through open, transparent auction. Any private deal for allocating spectrum would be a violation of the law of the land.

President’s Rule Underlines Bankruptcy Of Double Engine Government

CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on February 14THE imposition of President’s Rule in Manipur underlines the utter bankruptcy of the BJP double engine government under whose rule the state has been in violent turmoil for two years. Withdraw UGC Draft Regulations

CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on January 8THE Draft University Grants Commission Regulations 2025 contains a provision, which is a direct assault on the rights of states on the question of selecting vice chancellors in state-run universities.  The guideline gives the governor-cum-chancellor the power to appoint the three-member selection committee in which the chancellor’s nominee will also be the chairperson.  This is happening in the background of governors acting arbitrarily in appointing vice chancellors in some opposition-ruled states.

CPI(M) has issued the following statement on December 28THE health condition of senior farmers’ leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal who has been on hunger strike since November 26 is extremely critical. The protest is for the legitimate demand of the kisan movement for a legal backing to the MSP and waiver of loans. All the demands are related to the central government which by refusing to intervene is solely responsible for this situation.

He was a leader of unquestioned integrity.The Polit Bureau conveys its heartfelt condolence to his wife Gursharan Kaur, and his daughters.
