SKM Supports May 20th General Strike

THE general body meeting of the Samyukt   Kisan Morcha (SKM) was held in New Delhi on April 20, with delegates from across India. The meeting resolved to extend full support to the All India General Strike of workers called by the Central Trade Unions (CTUs) on May 20, 2025. The strike is being organised in opposition to four Labour Codes which are the pro-corporate and the ongoing push for privatisation, among other pressing demands.

AIKS Condemns AAP Punjab Govt's Repression

THE Samyukt Kisan Morcha Punjab had planned to hold a protest in Chandigarh on     March 5 to address the pending demands of the farmers. However, the AAP led Punjab government, which claims to be the protector of democracy, launched a brutal attack on the democratic rights of farmers by starting to arrest leaders of various constituent organisations of SKM from their homes. Prior to this, on March 2, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had a meeting with representatives of farmer organisations, which ended fruitlessly.

Farmers Mobilise against Corporate Control of Agriculture

THE anger and frustration of farmers against the authoritarian, pro-corporate NDA-3 Government has erupted in protests across India on December 23, as farmers demand intervention from President Droupadi Murmu. They have called on her to direct Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to immediately engage in talks with all farmers' organisations and take urgent action to save the life of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who has been on a hunger strike for 28 days.

The context of the struggle relates to various projects, including Greater Noida, Noida, Yamuna Expressway, Jewar International Airport, and UPSIDC, among others, that acquired the precious land assets of these farmers without providing rightful compensation or alternative livelihood support.

Farmers' Movement In Gautam Buddh Nagar: AIKS Demands Release of All Arrested Farmers

THE All India Kisan Sabha, in a statement issued on December 6, has strongly condemned the repression of the farmers' movement in Gautam Buddh Nagar by the Yogi Adityanath government and demanded immediate steps to address the demands of the farmers.The ongoing farmers' movement in Gautam Buddh Nagar is being forcibly suppressed by the Uttar Pradesh government. The police are going to homes of farmers, threatening and putting them under house arrest. People are being arrested from their homes and on the roads as well.
