Comrade Madhab Saha

Madhab Saha, a towering figure in Tripura’s left movements, former State Committee Member of CPI(M), four-time MLA from Matabari, and a respected trade union leader, passed away on 21st February while undergoing treatment at ILS Hospital, Agartala. He had been battling cardiac issues for several years. At the moment of his passing, a hall meeting was underway at Agartala Town Hall to commemorate the 178th anniversary of the publication of the Communist Manifesto.

Chandrasekhar Bose is No More: Insurance employees’ movement loses its guiding light

Chandrasekhar Bose, who passed away on 16TH January at the age of 104, was a doyen of the insurance employees’ movement, founding member of the All India Insurance Employees’ Association (AIIEA), and a beloved leader of generations of insurance employees. Kishore Theckedath: A Remarkable Marxist Intellectual, Organiser, and Leader

Dr. Kishore Kumar Theckedath, a rare and remarkable combination of a Marxist intellectual, organiser, and leader, passed away in Mumbai on the night of December 20, 2025 at the age of 89. He was a former member of the CPI(M) Maharashtra State Secretariat; a pioneer of the militant movement and organisation of college and university teachers in Mumbai and Maharashtra; a detenu for 15 months during the Emergency from 1975-77; and a renowned Marxist thinker, writer, and teacher.

Maharastra: Comrade Lahanu Kom

VETERAN leader of the CPI(M) and the All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) in Maharashtra, Comrade Lahanu Shidva Kom, ex-MP and ex-MLA, passed away early this morning on May 28, 2025 after a brief illness. He was 86 years old. He leaves behind his wife Hemlata (also a Party and AIDWA leader), a son, a daughter, and three grandchildren.Lahanu Kom was born on November 10, 1938 in an adivasi poor peasant family of Aagwan village in Dahanu tehsil in Palghar district.

CPI(M) Condoles Com Tran Duc Luong

THE Communist Party of India (Marxist) expresses its profound grief at the passing away of Tran Duc Luong, former Polit Bureau member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and former President of Vietnam. He was born on May 5, 1937 and died on May 20, 2025 at the age of 88 years.Tran Duc Luong joined revolutionary activities in 1955 and joined the CPV in 1959. He served the Party and country in various capacities till he retired in 2008.

Comrade Kantimohan

COMRADE Kantimohan Sharma, one of the founding members of the editorial team of Loklahar and the Democratic Writers Association, passed away on July 14 at a hospital in Noida. Coincidentally, it was also his birthday. Since the night of July 13, he had been on a ventilator. Comrade Kantimohan had been ill for a long time, and with advancing age, heart disease and other illnesses had afflicted him. He was 88 years old.Kantimohan retired from the position of a reader at Satyawati College, Delhi University, in 1996.
